Using folding wing can lighten the weight of the structure, decrease the size of the structure and improve the maneuverability of the missiles, so folding wing applies to tactical missiles and aerodynamic missiles. Research on the parameters which the spreading performance influence is of great significance to the design and the improvement of the folding wing.In the paper, certain folding wing taken as the research target, the software (Automatic Dynamics of Mechanical System) is used to build the folding wing virtual prototype model according to its practical geometry parameters, physical characteristics and restriction. Compare the experiment results with theory calculation, the virtual prototype proves to be reasonable and applicable. We use simulation analysis output curves to study the chancing property of the movement parameters and the spreading performance parameters. We choose main parts' structure parameter as design variable to study the influence of their chances on the spreading performance and at last study the dynamic optimize design of the prototype.The whole research work concentrates on the virtual prototype of the folding wing. Through it we have basically achieved the goal-analyzing the spreading performance of the folding wing on a computer. This is of great significance to the reducing the real prototype manufacture and real laboratory test and depressing the costs of production. This method can apply to other folding mechanism.
