Springback is a common phenomenon in bending process. It has been proved that stretch bending can decrease the springback effectively, which can improve the forming precision. The process of stretch bending has been widely used in the sheet metal forming of car and aircraft.In this paper, the analytical models of P-M and P-M-P are built to analyze the rotary stretch bending of angle section extrusions. The strain-stress distributing in the section and the springback angles are calculated. The relationship between the springback angle and the Pre-stretch force, and the Compensatory-stretch force is discussed. The coupling effects of pre-stretch force and compensatory-stretch force are also studied in the paper. What's more, the rules of the Lateral compression effect on angle section extrusion's stress distributing and springback are analyzed qualitatively based on experiments.On the base of theoretic analysis, the Elastic-plastic FEM models of rotary stretch bending are built. The rules of Pre-stretch force, Compensatory-stretch force and Lateral compression effect on angle section extrusion's strain-stress distributing and springback angles are analyzed, and the calculated springback angles of FEM are compared with both the experimental values and the calculated analytical values.Our study shows that the process of rotary stretch bending can be calculated accurately and simulated by both the analytical models and FEM. The parameters of rotary stretch bending can be confirmed by these models, which can help to direct the production of the rotary stretch bending.The research methods and results are helpful in such as designing and optimization of the process and equipments of the rotary stretch bending, improvement of the quality and efficiency of the stretch bending parts and the development of the stretch bending technology both in theory and in practice.
