The dissertation presents a new theory and method of Case-based Assembly Coordination Scheme Design (CBACSD). Research of the key techniques of CBACSD includes the representation, retrieving of Assembly Coordination Case (ACC) and foundation, maintenance of case library. On the basis of the theoretical research, a supporting system of CBACSD is developed, which can support designer in CBACSD. The dissertation is organized as followed:Chapter 1 gives a review of research and application in aircraft assembly coordination technique, while the contents of aircraft assembly coordination process design are also analyzed. And the significance and contents of CBACSD are proposed particularly.Chapter 2 presents a method of CBACSD, and expatiates the theory of CBACSD.Chapter 3 constructs the knowledge model of aircrafts assembly coordination case, and relates cases by assembly layer relation, while the relation is represented by Object-oriented Approach. It is discussed in the chapter, foundation of assembly coordination case library and storage structure of case in database.Chapter 4 presents a similarity-based retrieving approach of assembly coordination case. While calculation of similarity is discussed, the retrieving process, the similarity-based algorithm and the similarity function is described. Finally, a certain kind of aircraft wing is used as example to examine the algorithm.Chapter 5 develops a system, which can support designer in performing CBACSD. The application platform and development kit of the system is introduced, and the architecture and key module of the system is expatiated. Finally, a certain kind of aircraft wing is used as example to examine the system. Finally, conclusions are given along with recommendations for future research in Chapter 6.
