Metaphor, In The Architectural Forms

This research paper is based on the consideration to architecture language and place metaphor in architecture form. From the start of the internal relations between people and architecture, architecture and form, architecture and culture, combined with linguistics and semeiology and some related living examples of, analyzed and summarized systematically the metaphor in architecture form, thus presents and further discusses the concept of the creation mode of "metaphorify". This research paper consists of three chapters.Chapter I: The founding of metaphor concept. From the beginning of metaphor meaning, metaphor theory investigation and the actual consideration of metaphor practice, defined the metaphor in architecture form from the two aspects of broad and narrow sense, also, analyzed this two similar concept: metaphor and symbol, hence give a definition to metaphor concept that discussed in this research paper and put it as the starting point of investigation.Chapter II: Metaphor and architecture. From the beginning of the consideration of metaphor concept, how to know the relation between metaphor and architecture, is the key to investigation in this research paper. Analysis of the meaning of architecture form language and the problems that expressed through architecture language and architecture semeiology, that obtains a new cognition that architecture has the essence of metaphory. Consideration that metaphor in architecture form is metaphor language has the embodiment of metaphory, essentially, is further understanding and manifestation to architecture culture. It also discusses and summarizes post-modern "metaphorism" by taking it as one of the important contents.Chapter III: Metaphor and creation. Combination metaphor with architecture creation, the creation mode of "Metaphorify" based on the existence of metaphor on architecture form, it discusses the fundamental relation between metaphor and architecture creation and the basic contents of metaphor practice. Consideration that metaphor on architecture form is a basic type of contemporary architecture creation, which using the way of metaphor to conceive architecture formally in the process of architecture creation, and through especial conduct to architecture form by applying metaphor technique. Finally, it summarizes the basic type of metaphor practice and the basic technique and form of metaphor.This research paper amounts to 33,000 words, 61 illustrations and charts.
