Spatially suspended prestressed cable-arch system is a new member in cable hybrid structural family, which is used by steel-roof structure of Zhengzhou International Convention Exhibition Center being constructed. The cables on masts respectively connect up side-span roof and prestressed cable-arch components. Thus, the spatially suspended prestressed cable-arch system is formed. Hereinto, the mid-span roof is the cable-arch components which are composed of cables and trellis arch. Besides, one spatially suspended system is made up of one mast and six cables.This large-span spatial structure is a new hybrid type belongs to cable structural system. The entire same engineering cases haven't been found. This new system has reasonable mechanical properties, favorable economic benefits and graceful architectural sculpt, that enriches big spatial structural system. Probing into this new system is striding forward high-new architectural techniques.Based on this structure of steel roof in Zhengzhou International Convention Exhibition Center, this paper researches and discusses structural characteristics surrounding four sides:(1) The concept design of this new spatial cable hybrid structural system is discussed through studying geometrical composition and structural configuration.(2) Based on discrete theory and by dint of ANSYS finite element method program, The maximal values of internal forces, reactions and displacements, as well as genesic parts, under thirteen single loads and seventeen adverse load combinations are calculated. Thereby, the load-carrying and distortion rules are hold.(3) The subspace iteration method is adopted and three space computing models are established. The previous ten self-vibration periods and modes are calculated. The results of three models are compared so that thedynamic properties can be obtained, including those of bottom concrete structure contributes to steel roof and those of cables contributes to steel roof.(4) Founded on requirements for constructing and analyzing two phases by simulating process of building, load-carrying capabilities in process of building for prestressed cable arch in mid-span steel roof are studied. Consequently, characters of steel trellis arch, struts and prestressed cable are educed, which offers academic base to laying major load-carrying components logically and economically.The analytical method in this paper is based on closely combining academic analysis with count for actual engineering, at the same time, is founded on results of multi-structural system. Hence, the previous analytic method is overcome effectively, which is based only on single system. Accordingly, the results accord with factual systematic work.The conclusions gained from this paper have some academic guidance and applied merits, which plays a foundation for the further study of spatially suspended prestressed cable-arch structural system.
