Bearingless motor is a new type of high speed and super high speed drive device, which was proposed in recent years. For it's advantages of no friction, no wear, no lubrication and long lifetime, bearingless motor is used in many special fields such as high speed, vacuum etc. In the fields of military, space, nuclear industry etc., bearingless motor shows broad application future and important significance in science.Bearingless motor is a typical machatronic system. Compared with the general induction motor, the characteristics of the bearingless motor are high-order, high-coupling and non-linear. So the basic research of its control are trying to searching for the good decoupling method and the excellent contol strategy. In this paper, the basic principles of bearingless asynchronous motor are explained, and its state equations are built up. Based on the nonlinear decoupling method: the inverse system method, the pseudo-linear equations are established.Secondly, Pseudo-Derivative Feedback (PDF) control strategy is used to research on the bearingless asynchronous motor. The PDF control parameters are designed and its control performance is analyzed. And the simulation through the models is done in the software of Matlab. Finally, the experimental console of the bearingless asynchronous motor is set up. The mechanical structure and the control electronic circuit are designed and manufactured. The experiment results show that the rotor can be suspended in the two-degree freedom, and also lay out good foundations for further investigation.
