Modified Polypropylene Car Bumper Developed

Polypropylene(PP) becomes a new force suddenly coming to the fore and one of the most popular parts for its low price, sufficient material, and chemistry-resisting. There are a lot of types auto spare parts those are used PP. Bumpers are one of the primary parts. In this paper, we mixed up PP that is fundamental resin, thermoplastic SBS that is primary increasing-tenacity agent, EVA hat is assistant-increasing-tenacity agent, and CaCO3 that is processed in the surface by titanate, then manufacture bumper. Then we analyzed mechanically the preparation modified mix and used DSC and SEM to describe the compatible, and microcosmic shape. The result shows that in mixed system of PP/SBS/EVA is better effect. Adding proper CaCO3 that is processed in the surface by titanate, which about 15%~20%, will improve the mix intensity of wallop, winding and the temperature of heat-deform. The PP bumper that we researched and made attain the technical level of nation and foreign. It is worth to popularize and apply.
