The simulation of 2100 diesel engine inlet port in steady flow rig is studied in this dissertation.Some important issues are discussed such as how to establish the model, how to draw the compute grid and the ways to evaluate the performance parameter of inlet port.After computing the airflow in the cylinder, we can draw some conclusions that horizontal eddy flow co act with vertical eddy flow, the stronger the vertical eddy flow is, the weaker the horizontal eddy flow become.Study the velocity vector in the cylinder, we can find that vertical eddy flow interfere with the creation of horizontal eddy flow.And the performances of inlet port not only have some relation with its geometry, but also are affected by the length of the cylinder, eccentricity distance from valve center to cylinder center.A program written by turbo c treats the compute data and compares the compute data with experiment data.The result is encouraging and we can deal with other inlet ports through the same ways.And the computer simulation of inlet port is very helpful to the design of it.We believe that someday the simulation and optimization of inlet port in the steady flow rig will be used in the engineering produce.
