Along with the proliferation of electronically controlled equipments in power system, power quality has been a great issue to both suppliers and users of electricity. In order to improve the power efficiency, it is necessary to detect the power quality sensitively, classify them accurately and clear them effectively.Since the signals of power quality disturbances are nonstationary, it is a tough task to analyze them. Many researchers have devoted their work to this field and come up with the conclusion that wavelet is a powerful tool for this case.The job of this research is exploring the wavelet-based methods for power quality detection and classification.
