The computer industry is undergoing a variety of exciting changes now that computer technology and produt have greatly affected the other fields. As a result of this affection, the computer is failed into two major categories: the general computer (i.e. PC) and the embedded computer.A embedded computer system, a perfect combination of computer hardwares software and some parts of mechanism, is designed and developed for a special function. The embedded applications are the copmuter applications that are embedded into the interior of all kinds of computer facilities and produtes.Thanks to the development of computer hardware and software, the technology and methods used in embedded computer have been changing dramatically. As regards the hardware design, it has been switching from using the separately chips and interface to an integrated design model. The later method is mean the combination of CPU, PLD and AD/DA. On the other hand, in the software development, the program language has gone through compiler language, C/C++ and the use of RTOS. The concept of platform has been introduced into the embedded computer feild for sake of a short design process.This paper will give a whole introduction to embedded system at first, including the basic concept, system structure and the main trait of embedded system. Then RTOS, the main part of this paper, is introduced, including the kernel structure, task management and arrangement and the communication mechanism between taskes. At last, there will be the concisely narration to "FBQ-30C" which is most important part of this project.
