The simulation technique is the key to reduce the cost and time of developing a new weapon system,and it is also the key to increase the ratio of value to cost. The hardware-in loop simulation of IR imaging guidance missiles is an advanced technique in studying and developing infrared guidance system. It is also a quick,economy and effective means in appreciating the performance of IR imaging guidance missiles.Infrared image simulator is a central device in hardware-in loop simulation of IR imaging guidance missiles.A new technique that use computer and MOS thermal resistance array to generate infrared image has became a trend of infrared image simulator.In the simulator,using computer to simulate dynamic IR images is one of the important techniques .This thesis is focus on how to use computer to generate dynamic IR images. A simulation of an imaging infrared guidance missile tracking a airplane is described. The dynamic images are produced by programming and are merged with real background IR images which were recorded by infrared camera. The merged images simulate the scene's Infrared image at the entrance of real seeker . With a set of hardwares ,the merged images are output to drive the MOS thermal resistance array to generate target/background IR image.In this thesis,modeling of the characteristic of the IR jamming is discussed. The attenuation characteristic of IR radiation through atmosphere is analyzed and the atmospheric permeance of IR radiation is given. The design ideas and implementation method to generate dynamic IR images with computer are addressed.When designing the software system "Software on generation of scene's IR images" in this paper, Video capturing,reading data from AVI file,digital image processing,picture composition,image data outputting are discussed in detail. Geometrically Modeling of targets, reading data from 3DS file,transferring vertexes' coordinates and the technology of generating dynamic IR images are also discussed .The scene's IR images producted by the software are true to nature, and the rate of replaying IR images is high. In an off-line mode, the rate can reach 150 frames per second with video accelerator.It can meet the requirements of IR imaging guidance with high speed and realtime.
