By analyzing the cause of traffic accident, the paper put emphasizes on studying the effect to traffic safety caused by road factor. Combining analyzing the current situations of traffic safety in our country, it states the importance and necessity of mounting the road safety audit in our country.After studying the relevant materials of foreign country, and combining the practical situations of road construction and road service in our country, the article systematically studies the definition of road safety audit and the specific performing procedures. The paper makes a research on the road factor, standard, and specification. It also summarizes and analyzes the contents of road safety audit in developing countries and analyzes the characteristics of exiting road safety audit.Using the research achievements, practice has been carried out on Cheng-wen-qiong Highway (a section of G318 Highway) and proper conclusion has been drawn.
