A hydraulic free piston engine (HFPE) is a kind of special engine, which is interested by many countries all over the world since 1980s, and relates to techniques about modern hydraulic, electronic, control and internal -combustion engine. In the future it will be applied to the mobile machines with high-power and stop frequently. Comparing to conventional crankshaft engines, HFPEs have significant differences because of no rotational parts, which result in the special characteristics of the HFPE control system.For the specialty of the DHFPE prototype, a controller based on industrial personal computer and PC-Lab Card is developed, and two types of ignition system are designed. After this, several DHFPE prototype debug experiment and ignition experiment are finished.This thesis consists of seven sections as follows:In the first section, the author expounds the outline of HFPE, and reviews the development of key techniques and constitution of the control system for the engine. Later the request of the DHFPE prototype has to the control system and the recent developments in HFPE control system are introduced. At last, the content and study significance of this thesis are briefly outlined.In the second section, all the parts of the DHFPE prototype control system are discussed and selected, and hardware and software of the control system are planned.In the third section, firstly constitution of hardware in industrial personal computer, the hard core of the DHFPE prototype control system, and the content of signal test and dispose circuit is described. In succession the two kinds of ignition system, the displacement-control ignition system and position-control ignition system, are presented emphatically. Lastly hardware anti-jamming and reliability actions are discussed.In the forth section, first, the prototype control strategy in software is presented. Next, the program strategy of use Turbo C and LabWindows/CVI are dealt with. Last.software anti-jamming and reliability actions are discussed.In the fifth section, the calculate formulae for the voltage of the second side of ignition coil and the breakthrough voltage of spark plug gap are given at first. After that, the ignition system model is established and simulation for it based on Matlab is finished. Lastly the ignition voltage is test to verify the simulation.In the sixth section, firstly the DHFPE prototype test rig and its purpose are introduced. Secondly the process and results of the debug and primary ignition experiment of the test rig are presented. Lastly the author analyses the results.The last section is a summary of the whole research work. The main achievements of this thesis are mentioned and the thoughts of the further developing work are pointed out.
