In this paper, the principle of SPWM is described, which include how the harmonic is engendered. On the basis of analyzing SPWM, it is studied that the method of solving SHEPWM (selected harmonic eliminating pulse width modulation) models by Homopoty algorithm. The convergence of solutions of the gained Homopoty equations is analyzed. Examples proved this method is correct .The results show that Homopoty algorithm used to solve the inverter harmonic elimination model has many excellency comparing with Newton algorithm, such as large convergence margin, quick convergence, insensitive initial iteration etc. The control unit based on DSP is designed. It realized the real-time harmonic elimination algorithm.
