Highway Yellow Earth Dam Embankment Design Studies

Loess dam-like embankment is a new type of engineering. It is important and necessary in practice. But research on its design theory can not meet the requirements putted forward in the practical engineering till now. So there is the practical and theoretical significance to carry out the advanced research work.Based on the analysis of social and environmental benefit of dam-like embankment, the cost of this type of embankment and the cost of a bridge structure are compared and analyzed. Further, the design theory and method of the dam and the foundations of buildings are also used for reference. A series of design thoughts, design principle and design method of the standard section form stability design, settlement design and foundations design and processing of the dam-like embankment design are putted out. The present dam-like embankment is appraised based on the theory.To sum up, this paper put out a series of method of loess dam-like embankment design. This series can be used for reference.
