Taking KeJiaDun bridge of Wu-Huang expressway as project background, this paper studies the application of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) in strengthening the reinforced concrete continuous rigid-frame bridge with long span. The research indicates that CFRP especially adapts to reinforce bridge because of its high intensity, light quality and fine durability. Based on the former research, the paper carries out design calculation formula after reinforced by CFRP, and discusses the analyzing method considering the internal force secondary distribution of crack structure. Furthermore, combining with the real disfigurement of KeJiaDun bridge, the paper raises the plan of reinforcing in the parts of positive and negative bending moment. This is also the first real example to reinforce the continuous rigid-frame. Construction method of CFRP is also summarized. Load test before and after reinforcement shows that the CFRP reinforcing method can enhance the bearing capacity effectively and improve the dynamic stiffness of the structure.Anyway, reinforcing with CFRP is a kind of convenient and prompt technique. It's safe, dependable, not necessary to break off the transportation, and to change construction shape, and not increasing the construction weight. With the research in this paper, the design calculation and reinforce method is improved, the construction technique is developed and application experience is accumulated on the reinforce technique for CFRP in the bridge.
