Pure Electric Vehicle (PEV) whose energy source is power battery loaded on the vehicle is a kind of Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) . The scalar of electrical energy deposited in the battery pack decides the driving range of PEV directly. How to use the limited energy reasonably will determine the performance of PEV.Firstly, with the principle of electrochemistry, the mathematic models of the electromotive force and inner resistance of the Lithium-ion battery are built, which is based on the state of capacity (SOC). Based on the experimental data, the characteristic of the Li-ion battery capacity and voltage are defined. Then the constant of Peukert equation is calculated from the linear interpolation. Simultaneity the characteristic curves of the battery capacity, electromotive force and inner resistance are fitted with least-squares. The maximal of relative error between the calculated values from the models and the experimental data is 2.59% under 50A discharge current.Secondly, Combined with the comparatively ripe AC motor mathematic model, the energy characteristic model of motor among the drive-line of PEV is built, then the changes of motor stator current and voltage under different working condition can be calculated. With the mathematics models of the Lithium ion battery and AC motor, the approach and magnitude of energy consume of the whole vehicle are analyzed under the conventional theory of automobile in this paper. At the same time, the relation between the energy consume and the charge and discharge voltage and current of the battery, as well as that between the energy consume and the voltage and current of the motor stator are made clear on the basis of ECE drive mode. Furthermore the range of the PEV and the regenerative braking are analyzed.At last, through the comparison of the calculated value from the model with the experimental data, these models are practical.
