SPecial shaped R.C. columns (usua1ly L-shaPed, T-shaPed or Crisscross section)have been used widely in civil engineering field in recent years on account of theirsuperiority. While its design and calculation have many defaults, which need furtherresearch. Therefore there iq a necessity to deveIop special software to design andanalyze this kind of structurc.Based on the behavior of R.C. columns subjected to biaxially eccentric loading. amethod for the nonlinear analysis of complete response process for arbitrarily shapedR.C. columns subjected to biaxially eccentric loading was presented. A computerprogram ASC was specialIy compiled. The calculational result coincides with theexperimental result well. In order to study the behavior of R.C. columns subjected tobiaxially eccentric loading, the L-shaped column of three sets of steel ratios wascalculated. According to the results calculated by the program(ASC), the behavior ofloading response was investigated. AdditionaIly, the calculation method presented byspecification for design of R.C. special shaped columns(DBJ/Tl5-l5-95) is discussed. In order to study the shear responses of special shaPed columns, the ratio oftensile flexural steels' the ratio of moment and the shear-span ratio were analyzed.A new and proper finite element model fOr special shaped frame structureanalysis is presented. The 3-dimension bar element is introduced in this paper. A largethree-dimension structure analysis program ASC, with powerful function ofpre-process and POst-process, is developed under the \vindows 98.
