| With the development of power system and the complexity of system structure, transmission network is more important in the whole system, so people pay more attention to reliability of power system. Base on reliability study of power system, we can provide design plan, and optimize network operation, to ensure security, reliability and economy of power system.In this paper, development of reliability theory and transmission network characteristic is described, principle and calculational methods of reliability evaluation is discussed, to analyze model and method of power network evaluation. In power system operation, applications of reliability theory is began, which is helpful by simulation in factual operation. Operation reliability is very important, but it is immature. Operation reliability is discussed, to find the condition and method for the evaluation. Found the reliability model By the N-l rule and Load Supplying Capacity(LSC).With an example of HOkV local power network, by N-l rule, using Load Supplying Capacity(LSC), educe LSC value and reliability index. Discuss the factor influencing the LSC value: network structure, distributing proportion of load, power supply configuration. Analyze every factor by examples. Evaluate the reliability of local network, and find the weak segment, to provide the scheme in the operation and programming. Bring simple countermeasure to improve operation reliability.The Load Supplying Capacity(LSC) method is useful in the actual reliability evaluation.
