The thesis focuses on analysis of stability of ash dams and provides basic available for design,construction and working of ash dams,mainly including three parts:1. Calculation on seepage quantity of ash dams,this is the core of this paper.How to determine the steady-state recorded saturation face and how to ensure the stability of iteration process is the key problem.Based on analysis of several current calculation methods, recorded saturation lines have been calculated by fixed mesh method.Effect of the method has been examined by comparing the calculation results with experimental data and analytic solution.2. By slip circle analysis and analysis of stress-strain with FEM,the static stability of ash dams has been analyzed.3. Stability of seismic resistance and dynamic response analysis for ash dams.By Psedo-static analysis and seismic dynamic response analysis with FEM,safety coefficient under designed seismic force,stress,strain and acceleration amplification factor have been provided.Based on upper analysis,related computing program has been provided.By applying it to the ash dams of Qinghe power plant,good agreement has been found between calculation results and real conditions.
