Based on the analysis of research situation and the important function of Reverse Engineering (RE) in modern industry, the paper extends the present problem lying in RE. There have been extensive researches about the methods of reverse design, and have gained some achievements. But there have been few involving about the quality test of reverse objects, especially the test of the objects demands the precision of cooperation or transmission, which is the problem needs to solve urgently.The paper analyses and studies the above-mentioned problem about planar cam. The paper includes: introducing the method of reverse design of the objects, and putting forward the test and assessment methods of reverse objects with the comprehensive performance of mechanism. In addition, analyzing the displacement error of the mechanism combing the practical condition of production, introducing how amends the cam outline in terms of the diagram of acceleration curve and the method of precision distribution of the mechanism. In the whole course of calculation and analysis, combining the analysis methods of probability statistics and the motion simulation of mechanism with computer.
