This dissertation has introduced the usual technology and analytical means in designing retaining structure, and the evaluating on engineering geological condition in Chang sha. At the same time, it has discussed the rationality and inevitability of the technology using expert system means. One of the aim is improving the quality and efficiency of Struct Type Selection in deep excavation. The other is collecting the experts' knowledge in this field and then organizing them in computer.Struct Type Selection in deep excavation is based on the knowledge of the experts. But the knowledge is very complicated. Therefore the paper has analyzed it and found some good way to express it in database in computer.Since all kinds of the selection knowledge is the foundation of analyzing. This dissertation has discussed the ways of data-organizing and the type-selecting methods, it also has put forward several realistic methods to deduce based on database technology.At last, according to the former means and designs, this dissertation has analyzed the experiment data. Furthermore, it has enumerated the conclusion and prospect in the special field.
