The theory analysis and experiment research of Giant Magnetostrictive Actuator (GMA) are discussed in this thesis. The main purpose of the research is to improve the vibration controlling precision of vibration isolating platform by means of Giant Magnetostrictive Actuator as the active vibration control element. Firstly the thesis has a discussion about research and application and development trend of active vibration control technology and actuator in detail, and has further discussions in the following aspects:1. Analyses and researches in the performance and Magnetostrictive mechanism and controlling model of giant magnetostrictive material (GMM), including the magnetic field's analysis and design.2. Researches and experiments about the characteristics of the static states and dynamic states of giant magnetostrictive actuator in detail, and gain the relative data which adapt to active vibration control, and sets up the model of hysteresis curvilinear of giant magnetostrictive actuator.3. Designs the vibration-isolating platform, and sets up the model of giant magnetostrictive actuator and active vibration control system, and gains the transfer functions.4. Analyses the modules of the software adapted to active vibration control, discusses the design of the flow charts, and designs PID controller.5. Based on giant magnetostrictive actuator, does a experiment of active vibration control about direct disturb, and the results show that the giant magnetostrictive actuator can satisfy the need of active vibration control.
