It is hard-core of High voltage pulse modulator that is the key part of the pulsed High Voltage Supply. Because the pulsed High Voltage Supply is widely applied in various fields, the plasma switch can be widely applied in the future.In our laboratory, the plasma switch is researched and developed primarily in our country. A High voltage pulse modulator with the plasma switch used as its key part will try to be made for PSII.In this paper, theoretic study and experimental investigation on the plasma switch are set forth in detail. At first a new plasma switch that is tabulate is brought forward by us in the world and we made many experiments on it to optimize its parameter when it works well. Ultimately we have a better result:20kV,30A, 500ns. Then some advice can be brought forward for its modification to progress it and be applied well in the future.
