Computer-aided Car Modeling Technology

The modern automobile (especially car) styling art is an important constituentpart of self independent development ability The styling is the unity of scienceand art and has become one of the strOngest way of comPehhon among productS.Wth the entrance of computer to the field of automobile styling, many kinds ofsoftware fOr styling have replaced the traditional manual way By using severalsoftware for automobile styling, this paPer makes an exploration of funchons ofthese software and their aPplication for styling of different automobiles. This paPerpresents the method of computer aided automobile styling, namely modeling,rendering and post treatment, studying the main technologies of 3D modeling.The methods of modeling by using curved surface and solid are presented. Modelswith different methods are established in 3ds MAX and UQ From the vieWPointSof whole styling and local styling, the paPer also makes a study of treatment fOrmodels during the course of styling and presents some skills of styling. In thepaPer, the way of quick 3D modeling and rendering by using 3ds MAX andPhotoShop is also explored.
