As the amount of all kinds of automobiles is increasing traffic accidents have become a serious world-wide problem.Every year,it is estimated that over 500,000 people died in traffic accidents all over the world. Traffic accidents have brought great damage to the lives and properties of human beings.Therefore research on automobile passive safety is nowadays becoming one of the most important subjects in the study of automobile safety techniques. The study on the proportion of those killed in all kinds of auto accidents in China shows that frontal crash is the bigest and the worst one.Focusing on this case,the topic here gives a series of numerical simulation and emulational calculations on the car frontal crash. In this article, ANSYSILS-DYNA,which belongs to the highly nonlinear finite element software,is applied in the numerical simulation analysis for the whole car frontal crash,whose study content can be divided into two parts: a whole car impacting with a rigid barrier and two whole car impacting each other.The rules and laws shown in the numerical simulation analysis and in the results of calculations have been summarized.Moreover,the cases of different impact velocities and different frame rigidity and the rules and laws shown in them have been discussed. At the end of the paper,several pieces of infantility suggestions to the further study are put forward.
