Based on original middle test model of heat-pipe vacuum evaporator, this paper had done many developments and improvements in technical process, inner structure, machining technology etc. for the testing equipment. Which advanced such performance as economy, practicability and stability very much. Following work had been done in this paper. (1) The type of condenser was changed from wave-surface plate into spire plate. Which improved the capacity of condenser, and made the shaping more uniformly, machining easier and corrosion resistance stronger. (2) The very low pressure mouth-sealing method for heat-pipes improved the capacity of heat transferring. (3) Clapboard sealing structure had been changed into double tube-plates, which made the structure simple and shortened the space between heat-pipes so the beat-transferring coefficient of condenser was elevated. (4) In-depth researches had been done for the liquid-liquid & gas ejector. It was successfully used in the heat-pipe vacuum evaporator and made the process much more simple. Furthermore, it insured the equipment in long period stable running. MI-around experimental studies had been made on this equipment and applied it to the desalination of seawater. Through experiments at different operating conditions, the affecting rule of working properties by various operating parameters was acquired. Finally, the economic and technical indexes of this testing equipment were assessed. Experiments and analysis demonstrated that heat-pipe vacuum evaporator has many advantages such as higher throughput (I .53.2t/d), lower electric power consumption (2.4KW), more difficult to fonn scale, stable operating and less irreversible loss etc. Besides, the operation and maintenance is easy and manufacturing cost is low, which has achieved the demands of industrial production.
