| According to the effect to the highway building for the engineering characteristics of bess. The nesesibilty to unificate the bess and 11 kinds of technology of unification were introduced. The experiment study were proceeded on the cement stabilizing bess, soil stabilizer (PERMA.. CCSS) and vegetation unificating bess. The experiment study of bess-cement engineering properties were mainly done. Loess-cement is a new type of local building material. It is composed mainly of bess, with a small quantity of cement and water. After the unification, the three elements are compacted to a high density. Loess-cement has certain mechanical strength and some other properties after a long curing period. The properties of bess-cement are controlled and affected by many factors. Therefore, these properties are very complicated. In this thesis, a set of tests have been done, studies are made on the external and internal soil-cement references. The engineering properties of the bess-cement, their decisive factors, and the degree of influence of these factors on the engineering properties have been analysed. Also in the thesis, a test on the changes of the strength of bess-cement is made, and the improving methods of the bess-cement are discussed. The thesis made an analysis on the hardened mechanics of the bess-cement by using IR,X-ray spectrum and other qualitative and semi-quantita tive methods. The study shows that the hardened mechanics of bess-cement is the result of physical reactions, and offers the theoretical references to the practice and application of this bess-cement.
