In this paper, the cracking on long cantilever reinforced concrete I beam抯 cap is theoretically studied and analyzed by three methods梕lasticity analysis, which is required by the specification; nonlinear analysis, that is also called section finite layers method, and FEM (Finite Element Method), used to mimic cracking development. At the same time, real bridge is tested. If crack width is figured out according to the current specification, in which the main parameters are planned on the basis of linear elasticity period, when the cap抯 crack surpass the limitation of the specification. The theory result is far from the testreult, so the concrete elastic and nonlinear quality should be considered. Under the condition of experiments on the real bridge, as well as make use of FEM to calculate crack development. The result is compatible much better to the fact than that of the specification and it shows that nonlinear analysis method is believable and useable. Then a conclusion can be drawed, to analysis reinforced concrete long cantilever T beam cap crack when crack width exceed the Limitation of the specification allowed, nonlinear analysis must be adopted (from elasticity to elasticity and plasticity, to plasticity).
