In order to explore the space, we always hope to get more vision information. Then it is an necessary job to acquire the space image datum and transmit them to the ground. This thesis design a space image compression encoding system according to the special demand of acquiring the space image. On the basis of understanding all kinds of ceding techniques, the system choose DCT technique. In the process of encoding, the system select region encoding and bit assignment instead of Huffsman coding, running coding and DPCM in order to debate the effect of the channel noise. This thesis also put forward a new algoiithm idea about assigning bits. Although the compression ratio will decline from 4:1 & 10:1 to 31 & 81 the syetem still add channel coder so as to improve noise resistance The quanlity of the rebuilded image prove that the system is feasible...
