More than 60% of total failures of the whole network is the single-phase ground fault in power, especially in the 35kV and below the low voltage distribution network in the single-phase ground fault in the entire greater proportion of fault. Further analysis of single-phase ground fault other than the failure of the formation process, and the failure process of voltage and current wave recording records and found that most of the short circuit between phases is also due to the initial single-phase ground fault evolved. It can be seen most of the root causes of network failures are from single-phase ground fault. Timely and accurate manner to eliminate single-phase ground fault on the safe operation of power system plays an important role.In this paper, power system 10 ~ 35kV medium voltage power distribution system to eliminate single-phase ground fault protection methods and the identification and protection system were studied. Combined with the current status of the power system running on single-phase ground fault on the system of in-depth analysis of various neutral grounding principle and under the protection of the problems of classification described, and then ground on a new protection of works conducted in-depth analysis, while on the west branch power substation intelligent ground symplectic mouth research and application of integrated protection system was introduced.
