Automobile panels have many characteristics,such as complicated shape,large dimensions, high accuracy and strict demand for surface quality.Therefore,the designs for drawing process of die surface and dies of panels,also the steady quality of large amont of products are bottleneck for the automobile development. Stamping forming simulation technology has vital significance in shortening automobile manufacture cycle,reducing cost,improving design quality and enhancing market competitive ability.The design of the drawing die working surface is the key process of auto panel drawing die,and it is also the key factor on the development of auto panel products. This paper analyzes the stamping characteristic of automotive wheel cover and judges the reasonability of the stamping direction, the material pressing surface and the craft addendum surface. In the course of die surface design, different kinds of material pressing surface are compared on the formability by the method of the geometrically analysis by numerical simulation.Also ,different kinds of layout for drawbead are compared on the formability of wheel cover drawing by the method of the geometrically analysis.The process of working surface and parameter for wheel cover drawing die is designed by optimization in the way of formability analysising for wheel cover. Numerical simulation research suggests that the process of wheel cover is satisfied with forming characteristics.On the basis of the above-mentioned study, the major problem of cracking and wrinkling and its influencing factors are selected considering the characteristics of stamping simulation and the robust design of auto-body stamping.The appropriate quality indices and its influencing factors of process and material are selected. The parameter sensitive analysis and process robust optimization of wheel cover stamping is studied to assure that the wheel cover stamping quality is steady at large amount of production.The accuracy of dimension for wheel cover stamping is crucial to the accuracy of assemblage.On the basis of robust process, this paper studies the forming and springback process of wheel cover.The simulation analysis of the springhack eompensation is performed basing on the springback compensation module of the CAE software Dynaform.Springback compensation simulation result suggests that in the first springback compensation simulation test the effect is ignificantly improved.It reduces the work to trial and repair die ,cut cost and shorten the development cycle of new products.By the studied, all above provide theoretical base for designing the process and working surface of drawing die.The maximal feature of this paper is that the stability of quality for drawing process is analyzed by robust design to assure that quality controlling is steady at large amount of production.
