The connection diagram of power network is a piece of paper frequently applied in power plan department and dispatching department, which is usually processed on the geographical connection diagram, overcoming the severe unevenness of geographical layout and displaying the power distribution and connecting circumstances of the nodes of both 220kV and 500kV plants nodes in province clearly.With the progress of economy and society and expansion of the scale of power network system, for human power, the difficulty in continuing drawing connection diagram of power network was increasing. In the meantime, it was impossible to maintain the diagram according to the different distribution of substations. Thus, it is really necessary to apply the uniform connection diagram and information integrated technology.The standard IEC 61970 defined Common Information Models (CIM) offers a global power system model based on XML which provides conditions for the realization of the data store in different systems and information exchange between software. SVG is based on the XML text graphic format, as the only future diagram standard in power system, which dedicates to the automatic generation by means of the computer software. In addition, the technique that supports for scripts in JavaScript dedicates to the richness and diversity of SVG diagram. On the basis of the developing history of power network automation system and CIM, power network uniform connection diagram were automaticlly generated based on the data of CIM and format of SVG.Via studying the developing history and research status quo of power network dispatching automation system, an algorithm for automatic generation of power network uniform connection diagram based on the data of CIM and format of SVG was discussed. The standard IEC 61960 and CIM introduced in IEC 61970 were investigated. The concept, advantages and fundamental elements of SVG were illustrated as well. In addition, briefing XML techniques, different parsers were analyzed and compared. The conception and theory of simulated annealing was introduced for the solution of the simulated annealing problems.With further study of the structure of CIM, the author discussed the design of CIM database and detail process and operation steps of parsing CIM.XML in DOM4J technique and implementation of import of the power network information. So far, the EMS/SCADA system in dispatching center of provincial scale is able to provide the complete CIM model of transmission networks, power network devices based on CIM/XML and data of topological relations, thus, it is possible to export all of the data of the power network uniform connection diagram from EMS/SCADA system.On the basis of the foregoing database and network data from EMS/SCADA system, an algorithm for power network uniform connection diagram was stated. Via a series of operations for the data obtained from the database of 220kV and 500kV power networks, such as the discretization of data, simplification of topology, improvement of algorithm and late optimizations, etc., the diagram with less cross points, clear frames and uniform layout were obtained and basic data were automatically obtained from EMS/SCADA achieving the goal. At last, integrating JAVA technique and editable feature of SVG text, the schemes for automatic generation of SVG diagram based on JAVA, realizing access and automatically generation for SVG files, was introduced.
