Storage air-source heat pump hot water unit is a improved air-source heat pump water heaters with the function of evaporative cooling capacity recovery and storage.It can provide hot water year round,and provide free cooling by recovering evaporative cooling capacity of the unit in the summer.In addition the storage devices of unit can also take full use of low power at night to storage,and narrow the difference between peak and valley of the electricity grid. This new unit have an important significance for the improvement of phenomenon that coal-fired boilers, electric hot water boilers and other traditional boilers is uneconomical and unreasonable use of energy,as well as the conventional air-source heat pump water heater can not recover the evaporative cooling capacity.To study the storage air source heat pump hot water unit's operating characteristics, the paper designs and assembles a prototype for experimentation, and test it in different operation modes and conditions.Experimental results show that the storage air-source heat pump hot water unit can operate safely and reliably under different working conditions throughout the year,and the EER of the unit is high and its energy saving effect is remarkable.In addition,the paper use the MATLAB software developed simulation procedures of storage air-source heat pump hot water unit.and operates characteristics of the unit throughout the year on simulation. The simulation results show that the annual average EER of the new unit is more than 3,and the recovery of evaporative cooling increases the EER of the unit remarkably,and the unit have the ability to narrow the difference between peak and valley of the electricity grid.Finally, the paper analysis the economy of air source heat pump hot water unit and several conventional hot water heaters.The results show that primary energy ratio of the new unit is 49.44% higher than gas fired boiler,andit can save 64.10% of the electricity than electric hot water boilers, and its investment recovery period is less than 1.5 years.So the air source heat pump hot water unit have a good product marketization prospects.
