The Narrative Landscape Multi-dimensional Sensing Method

One of the earliest human landscapes is narrative landscape; mainly character for those kinds of spots would be historical and meaningful. Along with social development, as one type of the landscape, narrative landscape plays an important role in social society; full of spiritual content and local landscape gradually integrated into social life. It is not only city's historical and cultural heritages which promote the spirit of the region but also the visual environment to meet people's growing spiritual needs.The first part is to sort out and ask questions of the theoretical background of the narrative landscape, and through the study of related concepts and summary of expressions to propose a multidimensional sensor-style narrative of the landscape expressions; in the second part of the article, perceptual process of the narrative landscape, transfer process and the multi-dimensional expression space and give some corresponding strategies and applications, while taking the West Lake Park as a design example to be demonstrated; Finally, this article concludes the meaning and spirit of the narrative landscape approach, which acquires user's access and its own experience, what the designer needs to do is to set a place full of stories by a serious of scene layouts with meaningful themes and using a creative narrative way to encourage visitors to participate in and experience it,which will advocate for positive social significance and significant urban landscape.These innovation points are:1. The narrative landscape is divided into three theoretical levels which are sense of body, inspired and multidimensional expression space, which provide a complete and rational thinking way.2. Basing on the characteristics of each of the three theoretical levels, the article promote a multi-dimensional sensing strategy to provide a clear design method for narrative landscape.3. Combined with the projection of West Lake Park landscape, multi-dimensional sensing method has been used for narrative landscape design practice.
