Traffic is a great important problem in our daily life. In recent years, with the rapid development of China's economy, people's living standards continue improved, and the rapid acceleration of urbanization, so the traffic conditions are put forward higher requirements. The increasing of the vehicles put up higher requirements of the road infrastructure. Despite widening of the road and various other measures, the traffic problems are not solved, and have a more serious trend. So, the research of traffic flow play more important role and it's a great work to build a sustainable and integrated transport system for China's national conditions. The study of traffic flow can date back to the thirties of last century, and academic achievements so far are fruitful. But most of the starting point of the study focused on theoretical analysis and numerical calculation. Traffic flow data collection and analysis of the work are ignored, and this paper attempts, using statistical data perspectives principle, to get the useful results for the traffic flow model and the model parameters, as are proposed based on the comparison and selection.Based on the project supported by NSFC, we recorded a lot of traffic videos and extracted many "headway-velocity" data from them using some computer programs. After the analysis of the data, we show that the distribution of headway and velocity belong to normal distribution, and the relationship between the average velocity and average headway correspond to the rule of traffic flow generally, and the average velocity of different lane changing rules is observed. All these show us the rationality of the data. Then, we used the measured data to construct a freeway traffic flow database of domestic typical urban, which contains more than 210,000 records. We used SQL Server relational database to store and manage data, and used the.NET dynamic web applications to display a variety of statistical analysis of data, which can form a data-sharing platform to provide an important foundation for the study of traffic models in line with China's national conditions. Finally, we used this database system, to study "flow-density" data and base maps, driving behavior, speed density relationship functions and other issues in China's urban freeway, and obtained a series results of freeway traffic flow in China's typical cities. The results show that we can do more with the database system. Using the large volume of traffic videos, measured data and database platform, we can also further expand study on weather, road alignment, speed limit and other factors on urban freeway traffic flow. And we can obtain the corresponding model parameters to establish traffic flow model consistent with China's national conditions.
