As a direct transformation of alternating electrical installations, Matrix converter has a high power factor and good input and output current, no intermediate DC link, easy to implement two-way flow of energy and other characteristics. So it's concerned by more and more scholars.The basic principle of the matrix converter is analysised in detail. Compared with several commonly used modulation strategy for matrix converter, we use space vector modulation strategy for matrix converter modulation in determining state duty cycle and switch combination, and on this basis, a modified space vector modulation strategy for matrix converter is also proposed. Key technical issues such as the composition of bi-directional switch of matrix converter, the form of security for current and input filter are soluted by the appropriate approach. And the dead zone compensation based on SVPWM method which is used to solute the dead zone problem is brought forward. A matrix converter closed-loop control system simulation model to verify the accuracy of dual-space vector modulation strategy is established using the MATLAB/ Simulink software. Both in open and closed loop control of the conditions, the non-sinusoidal signal input of the matrix converter was simulated, and the correctness and effectiveness of closed-loop control is verified, and the dead time compensation programs proposed by the article is also carried out using MATLAB simulation. The matrix converter consisting of closed-loop control system based on DSP and CPLD is designed. The main circuit, control circuit and sampling circuit of the matrix converter are given respectively, and algorithm corresponding DSP and CPLD is introduced, and the experiment has been carried out.
