A Study Of Contemporary Product Conformation And Developing Means Based On The Architectural Composition Theory

Form construction is the everlasting core of design activities, even in today's highly complex era. However, on one hand, design is unrestrained abused as a high value-added tool for companies, on the other hand, with the explosion of information and multiple mutation of culture, " form "design problem is more and more neglected by researchers due to the borderless expansion of the design theory. Thus, one side is the designers who focus on practices forced by alienated development cycle, and the other side is the theorists who are willing to delve into the composite design theory. Their aphasia not only leads to the loss of professional design concept, then the reduplication and plagiarism, but also makes the theorists cannot reach the first hand design information. The author of this article is writing attempting to change this situation.The main objective of this article is to explore a system that can guide the product form design and evolution. And then use this methodology to help designers express their ideas better and completely.Overall, the article is divided into five major parts. The first is the "systematic inquiry from architecture to product form composition", which mainly discuss the system rooted in the classical architecture methodology and product form based on this system; The second part is the " form part of the product methodology ", analyzing the form as an origin of thinking; The third part is the " component parts of the product methodology ", which are discussed in details in the form of geometric elements; The fourth part is the" rules of constitution of the product methodology ", several major constitute rules are discussed in detail such as ratio composition rules, mobile composition rules, geometric composition rules, symmetrical composition rules, the hierarchical and regionalization rules. The fifth part is the "general discussion of product constitutes methodology ". In this part, the former discussed methodology systems are combined to be a new method with meaningful guidance to achieve the ultimate goal of this article. Finally, the author tests the validity and significance of the derived design methodology by set of practice activities.
