From the era of DC Drive to the age of AC Drive, electric locomotives face unprecedented development opportunities nowadays by increased speed. Railway transportation industry developed as the industrial revolution went on. Driven by the technological development, the speed of the trains continuously increased to a significant extent. The cost performance ratio of railway transportation in short-to medium-distance is now higher than air transportation, not to mention freight transportation. As the indispensable role played in electric locomotives which mainly engaged in railway transportation, auxiliary transformer cabinets face various opportunities and challenges as railway enterprise develops. The market is expanding meanwhile the competition is more and more severe. Companies confront a fact which is how to improve the quality of auxiliary transformer cabinets by shortening the design cycle and reducing the weight and cost.Auxiliary transformer cabinets are designed after the detailed analysis of the structure and feature. Distributing state and vibration frequency of structural stress are gained theoretically by building 3D solid models of auxiliary transformers cabinets through Pro/ENGINEER, by analyzing the stress and vibrations under various circumstances through Finite Element Method. It goes to be certain of maximum stresses, the area cannot stand for long period to optimize the structure of auxiliary transformers which provides reference for designing other products of the same kind.
