With the energy crisis gradually intensifying, the green solar energy attracts much human attention. This paper analyzed and researched the running characteristic of solar panels, the running characteristic of batteries, the principle of the maximum power point tracking and the working principle of inverter. On the basis of the basic principles of solar photovoltaic power system, a structure of the independent photovoltaic power system has been designed and determined according to the targets of the system, the charge control module, inverter module are designed and implemented in accordance with the functional division. The paper achieved a detailed description in the whole design process, including the control circuit, charging circuit, DC-DC circuit, DC-AC circuit and transformers winding, and so on. Because the interference of the environmental factors must be taken into account, the battery and inverter circuit protection has been adopted a series of measures to improve system security and reliability in the circuit design.The paper designed and implemented the independent solar photovoltaic power system, a new algorithm of the maximum power point tracking named three-point climbing method is proposed by combining with the climbing method and there-point comparison method, and the new algorithm is applied to the system. Based on the completion of the solar photovoltaic system functions, the various system indicators were tested. The charging efficiency and inverter efficiency is analyzed in accordance with the experimental data, which meets the system indicator requirements.
