Most of distribution network in our country is always a Neutral Grounding Method with an Arc Suppression Coil. When the system occurs single-phase ground fault, owing to the Petersen-coil's compensation, the fault current component would be reduced and power distribution reliability would be improved. In the meanwhile, the difficult of line selection in the single-phase earth fault is also increases. It increases the exit rate of line selection in most regional. There is no way but to use Opening Line.In response to the status quo, basing on simulation model of the resonant grounding system, research the Characteristics of Zero Mode Currents traveling wave, raise Several Line Selections basing on detecting the initial traveling wave of Zero Mode Currents, simulate and fault locate the resonant grounding system with branched line. It includes:1,this paper use the MATLAB and simulation unit to build 6round of the resonant grounding system model, the line types including the overhead line, cable-Line hybrid lines and cable lines, analyze the characteristics of fault of different types2,this paper raise a Line Selection by using the module maximum to detect the resonant grounding system fault. This method Will not be affected by phase inversion and the Saturation of CT3,raise a Line Selection by using the morphological gradient to detect the resonant grounding system fault. Compared with the wavelet, this method can improve the computational efficiency.4,this paper raise a Line Selection by using HHT to detect the resonant grounding system fault. Compared with the morphological, HHT has a higher accuracy5,this paper raise a Line selection by using the S transform instantaneous phase to detect the resonant grounding system fault. Apart from the advantages of the above-mentioned three algorithms, S transform has a higher margin.6,this paper analyze the characteristics of fault traveling wave in the resonant grounding system with branched line. It use the module maximum to detect single-phase ground fault with different condition of different lines, different fault location, different transition resistance, different fault, close angle and abstract the Characteristics of Zero Mode Currents traveling wave through using the Bp neural network to train features, it can determine fault lines, fault location and fault section.
