Xi'an Metropolitan Area Green Space System Planning Study

Since the 21st century, the urban green space system which is an infrastructure for urban sustainable development, has played increasingly influential role to the city ecosystem. Along with the development of social economy, the interregional cooperation becomes gradually frequent, and consequently the research scope of the urban green space system planning should also be extended. Through the integration of urban and rural areas, and the regionalizing green space system construction, the ecological environment and the ecosystem in a wider scope are constructed, so that to promote the urban big botanical garden representation, and builds the comfortable environment.This paper focused on the green space system of Xi'an metropolitan area, aimed at bringing green space system's comprehensive function into fully play. Through summarization, analysis and contrast to the domestic and foreign metropolitan area green space system planning cases from which the advanced experience and the scientific pattern was summarized, it unified the present situation of Xi'an metropolitan area green space, and finally proposed a planning scheme that Xi'an metropolitan area green space system should put the function at the first place, and should depend on the natural scenery environment and form the concrete structure with "one core, one axis, one circle, two nets, four rings, four belts, six areas, eight porches and multi-mottlings".The essential conclusions of this paper are as follow:(1) The function of Xi'an metropolitan area green space system must be given priority to during planning, and then the scenery frame union should be considered, and expectedly formed a stable landscape ecology pattern, which coordinated and constructed the green space ecosystem and promoted the environmental construction and the development of metropolitan area;(2) For the Xi'an metropolitan area green space system planning, this paper utilized spatial division and hierarchically progression, took the metropolitan area as the basis separately, adopted the park system as the mottling, and made use of the network of rivers and lakes and the road network as the connection matrix and the green corridor. The green space system structure was:getting the main urban green space system as the core, taking the Weihe River green landscape corridor as axis, taking the metropolitan environmental green space as the green space circle, taking four high speed ring roads and ten green porches of urban arterial roads as the ecology green grid structure, together with four cultural perspective areas and six ecology touring areas as well as several ecology green space mottling park system, composing one green space system with "the core, the axis and the circles as the main body, the rings, the corridors and the grids as the foundation, and the belts, the areas and the zones mingled".
