In recent years, with the wide application of inverter motor in industrial field, it is very important that how the working condition of the inverter motor can be detected in time and the failures may occur can be found and resolved in the first time.According to fault detection requirements, an overall program of DSP_based inverter motor fault detection is designed. Through the analysis of the working principle of inverter motor and the reason why incipient faults occurred, some works were completed. These works include sampling and amplification of signal, A/D conversion, phase-locked frequency doubling and some other data acquisition circuit design, and memory expansion of SRAM and FLASH, UART asynchronous communication, LCD display, micro-printer output, work status indicators and buttons such as data processing circuit design, FFT algorithm and control software design. A variable-frequency motor fault detection system is implemented. The system can accurately capture the working signal of motor. Through FFT transform accurate working waveforms and spectrogram can be displayed. The system working conditions can be directed through the proper working state indicators, the working data can be saved in FLASH, different functions can be selected through different buttons, and the historical data can be uploaded to PC.Through the testing, the system can accurately judge the early failures by extracting the fault characteristic of the inverter motor. The main fault is a common fault of broken rotor. It is easy to operate the system, and the human-computer interaction is very friendly. Operators can learn the working state of the inverter motor in the first time. The system has passed technical appraisal. The system works stably, is practical, and has using value and market value.
