Medical titanium alloy (TC4) is a kind of typical difficult-to-cut material. As a material for orthopedic implants, high quality of surface is required. So study of the efficient cutting mechanism and process optimization of the medical titanium alloy has important significance for improving the CNC Turning's quality and efficiency, and the study can also expand the application of the medical titanium alloy.The cortical bone screw of TC4 is the subject investigated. The thesis analyzed the material properties and cutting mechanism of the medical titanium alloy TC4, studied the cutting parameters and tool parameters of titanium alloys biomedical materials. The orthogonal experimental were carried out, and the related cutting parameters include cutting speed, feed rate, cutting depth, tools anterior horn, tools posterior horn and tool corner radius. The relationship between the machining quality and the cutting parameters were studied. Through multivariate nonlinear regression analysis and optimization of cutting parameters, the mathematical model were established; and then by using of the genetic algorithm, the comprehensive optimization considering processing quality and production efficiency were calculated. At last the research results were verified. The production process parameters which can be applied to production practice were obtained.The research results of the thesis have an important significance for realizing high efficiency and high precision machining of the medical titanium alloy.
