In this thesis, a set of novel coordination polymers, especially employing 9-carboxy-acridine, 1,2,4-triazole and 3,4(3,5)-pyridine dicarboxlic acid as ligands, have been studied via self-assembly syntheses of both solution and solvothermal methods; Furthermore, the connections between the structures and their relevant natures of those crystals have been deeply discussed and also demonstrated. The thesis is divided into five chapters. In chapter 1, it has briefly introduced the background of this study, following, emphasized the role of weak interaction effect between moleculars when self-assembled into dimensional polymers, and also reviewed other groups'work towards interpenetration and porous coordination polymers. Finally, both the significance of this thesis and its present developmental extent has been precisely discussed and depicted. In chapter 2,the 9-carboxy-acridine with Ag + at ambient temperature via weak action (hydrogen bonding andπ-πeffect) to further form two multi-dimensional structures has been comprehensively studied. Comparatively, the dimensional structure changes of coordination polymer when always keeping the same ratio between 9-carboxy acridine and Ag + and further introducing a second ligand has been investigated. Finally, it has still been studied the connections between the structures and their luminescent properties. In chapter 3, there are three exceptional self-assembled coordination polymers via solvothermal reactions of 1,2,4-triazole respectively with Cu2+, Cu+, Ag+ metals, under high-temperature conditions (higher than 140o). Also, all of those three polymers, including an unprecedented eight interpenetration structure especially synthesized via weak interaction– metallophilicity effect, have been successfully devised and synthesized, which have shown a series of hierarchy self-assembled processes such as from two- to three- dimensional structures, five- to eight- re-weaved interpenetration architectures, and also from no holes to large holes (15.967?) in coordination polymers. Finally, based on the crystal structures of those coordination polymers, we primarily dedicated to the close relationship between this kind of weak metallophilicity interaction and its luminescence. In chapter 4, we firstly discussed both two-dimensional structures with mixed ligands between 3,4-pyridine dicarboxylic acid and 4,4-bipyridyl that plays double roles respectively as linkers and coordination knots, even interacted with different metal ions (Cu2+, Co2+ ). Following, via hydrothermal reaction of mixed ligands between 3,5-pyridine dicarboxylic acid and 1,2,4-triazole primarily with Co2+ metal ion, two small four-nuclear clusters have been synthesized, which still have shown comparative stabilities even after interacted with different solvents. Finally, topologies of those crystal frameworks on the above have been deeply studied and also simplified their relevant net-work topologies. In chapter 5,a briefly conclusion on this work and an outlook have been viewed.
