With the development of computer technology, computer speed has constantly improved, Intel officially entered the next generation of CPU heat 100W, so the development of computer heat sink manufacture has a very important practical significance. There are many types of computer heat sink, but the most commonly used type is the aluminum radiator. Because aluminum has a light, beautiful, good thermal conductivity and is ease of processing into complex shapes, it is widely used to produce cooling equipment. However, design and manufacture of radiators become a bottleneck restricting the development of its rapid. Therefore, it is of high practical value to study the design and manufacture of heat sink extrusion die.Compared with others, aluminum radiator has its own characteristics: the distance between the heat sink is short, between two adjacent heat sink to form a trough, with its aspect ratio so great; the disparity of thickness is large, general heat sink is very thin, while the thickness of the roots of the bottom is large. Therefore, It is of great difficulty to design and manufacture the mold of radiator profiles. In this paper, sunflowers radiator as an example, based on the knowledge of extrusion die design theory and a large number of radiator experience in mold design and manufacturing, the heat sink extrusion die design of the concrete steps and key points was discussed in detail. Extrusion die design has two major parts. First, ensure molds have sufficient strength. Second, is to balance the flow of metal in the mold. The metal flow of porthole die is more complex than the flat die. So how to balance the flow of metal is another key point of die design. In order to regulate metal flow speed, and reduce the extrusion pressure of the die, this subject made the following pairs of mold design:(1) Mold was designed into the structure of porthole die. It can regulate the velocity of metal and reduce the pressure of the mold through diversion holes rational design(2)To break the routine, the length of the working parts of fin was designed be 0.35mm, this can effectively reduce the metal friction parts of the fin and improve metal flow rate.(3)On the condition of ensuring the strength of mold, the shunt bridge is designed to drop like shape. That can reduce the extrusion pressure, and promote the flow of metal and welding.(4) Designed a fake punch. The tip of the punch had designed a protruding step which can effectively prevent the center metal flow speed.The article also described in detail how to improve the die life, to ensure the product quality requirements, and lists causes of the actual production of product defects and solutions.
