But it is also a kind of material difficult to cut, so studying the cutting theory and cutting process of TC4 has an important and practical meaning. The main works of this paper focus on the finite element simulation of cutting process and cutting parameters optimization of the medical titanium alloy (TC4). The detailed contents are as follows:1. Analyzed the metal-cutting deformation theories including cutting-layer deformation theory, material nonlinearity deformation theory and geometric non-linear deformation theory. Studied the elastic-plastic large deformation finite element solution process. All the works made a preparation for the finite element simulation of TC4 cutting process.2. Built a finite element simulation model of TC4 cutting process based on Deform-3D finite element software platform and the key technologies about the finite element simulation of metal cutting process were studied.3. By simulations, studied the influences of different cutting parameters on the cutting force and cutting temperature in the cutting process.4. Analyzed the relationships between the surface roughness and the cutting speed, feed rate per tooth through TC4 cutting tests.5.
