This paper contains three aspects:Chapter 1:Progress of the organic synthesis reactions in aqueous media recently.Chapter 2:An efficient and convenient approach to the synthesis of pyrano [2,3-d] pyrimidine derivatives using hexadecyltrimethyl ammonium bromide (HTMAB) and benzyltrimethyl ammonium bromide as catalyst in aqueous media is described. This method provides several advantages such as neutral conditions, high yields and simple work-up procedure. In addition, water was chosen as a green solvent.Chapter 3:Synthesis of 7-amino-5-argio-4-oxo-2-thioxo-1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrido [2,3-d] pyrimidine-6-carbonitrile from aromatic aldehyde,2-thioxo-4-amino-6-hydroxypy rimidine and malononityile catalyzed by sodium lauryl sulfate in water is described. T his method provides several advantages such as mild reaction conditions, simple work-up procedure and environment friendly.
