Studies on the propagation of detonation characteristics of through bulkhead, the detonation energy of donor charge, shock wave transmission attenuation inside through bulkhead, shock wave initiation sensitivity of the acceptor etc. have been carried out through a number of testing by using the achievements in scientific research and test method of detonation physics. Shock wave initiation of the conventional acceptor charge of through bulkhead initiator (PENT, lead azide, percussion composition 1# igniter composition) has been tested and analyzed. Design method has been discussed in combination with the actual application of engineering designing for through bulkhead initiators. Testing research and marginal verification for charge design plan of different baffle thinkness and different diameter matching has been performed as well. The paper provides the commonly used design module for baffle detonation transmission. It has laide a certain technical foundation for standardized and systemized optimization design for through bulkhead initiators.
