In this contribution,two kinds of polydentate heterocyclic intercalating agents containing nitrogen have been synthesized and composed with some transition metal oxides that have layered structures.Then a series of nano-structure composite intercalated materials have been obtained.And the control of the morphology,the catalysis performances and electrochemical properties of these materials has also been investigated.The V2O5 and MnO2 powders were compounded with intercalation-agents contained nitrogen and the series of vanadium,manganese compound nano-structure materials were obtained.Modern characterization methods including X-ray diffraction(XRD),Fourier Transform infrared spectra(FT-IR),Raman spectroscopy(Raman),Ultraviolet visible spectroscopy(UV-vis),nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),Thermogravimetric analyzer(TG),Differential thermal analyzer(DTA) and scanning electron microscopy(SEM) were employed to analyze the structures and morphologies of such materials.By changing the methods,intercalation agents,and the time of the ultrasound,the morphologies of composites have been varied,which contained the helical structure,layered structure and so on.The assemble mechanism of the helical morphology of the nano-structural materials were also investigated.According to the results,the assemble mechanism of helical morphology may be explained as that the role of ultrasound facilitates the formation of the helical-structure.V2O5 nano-belts were prepared through an approach modulated by certain organic ligands,and were characterized by FT-IR,XRD,Raman,TEM and SEM.The results showed that the prepared nano-belts had the simular structure to V2O5 with a length of several tens of microns and a width of 60 nm to 100 nm.This method was simple,convenient and fast to yield high quality nano-belts.The electrochemical properties of the intercalation composites and V2O5 nano-belts were also studied.The results showed that the composites had good cyclic voltammetric properties and their discharge capacities were significantly higher than that of V2O5.The vanadium and manganese oxides with special morphologies were obtained by heating the precursors.The ammonium perchlorate(AP) decomposition experiments were also carried out with the obtained metal oxides as catalysts,and the dynamic stability control (DSC) curves showed that metal oxides had good catalysis ability on AP decomposition process.
